Should developers feel threatened by AI?

I’ll believe it when I see it. Even if it’s true, I certainly don’t see it as a threat. Writing code is currently an important part of my job, but it’s not where I add the most value. The real value lies in translating complex business needs into simple, functional solutions that are flexible and maintainable. Many organizations know where they can save time and money. Figuring out how to achieve that with software is the biggest challenge. As is often said: the best code is the code that doesn’t need to be written at all.

Am I worried about my future as a developer? Not really. Working with clients to find the right solution is the most enjoyable and impactful part of my work. Writing code is fun, but if AI can help free up more time for creativity and innovation, I see it as an opportunity. This allows me to spend more time designing solutions instead of writing them. I honestly can't wait!
